The Great Gildersleeve is a radio situation comedy broadcast from 1941 to 1957. Harold Peary played the character who had been on the radio situation comedy Fibber McGee and Molly, first introduced on October 3, 1939.
On Fibber McGee and Molly, Peary's Gildersleeve was a big windbag who became a consistent nemesis to Fibber.
