in 1945, Lipton Tea sponsored the series, with cheery commercial spokeswoman the "Tea Lady", whose pitches for Lipton Tea contrasted sharply with the horror themes of the stories and she would tell the host so. Some of the shows had big stars of the day like Boris Karlof.
